NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – George Washington freshman goalkeeper Jenna Oler was named the Atlantic 10 Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday morning.
Oler had a standout performance between the pipes during Saturday’s 9-7 victory at Robert Morris. The Columbia, Maryland, native made a season-high 17 saves in the crease, a mark that ranks third on GW’s single-game saves records list.
The freshman also holds top ranks in the conference with a 59 percent save percentage and sits second with 36 saves and a 7.87 goals against average (GAA).
The award marks Oler’s first of her career and is the first time a Colonial has earned Defensive Player of the Week honors since April 20, 2015.
